Where does Madagascar Vanilla Absolute come from?

About 80% of the world’s true vanilla comes from Madagascar, which has the perfect tropical climate for vanilla to thrive. Harvesting is a crucial source of employment for rural communities and an integral part of the local economy. Through Co-Impact Sourcing®, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation® helped fund a social project, the Mahadera Agricultural Training Center, being implemented in the cultivation and harvesting areas of Madagascar. This center, built and managed by doTERRA partners, provides a three-year training program for vanilla farmers, after which they can access further educational opportunities and a more secure future for themselves and their families. What is the difference between vanilla extract and vanilla absolute?

Vanilla absolute is not the same as the vanilla extract you might have in your baking supplies. Generally, the vanilla extract you bake with is alcohol-based extracts of vanilla beans. It contains traces of minerals and is thinner in consistency than absolute. doTERRA Madagascar Vanilla more potent than the vanilla extract you may be used to, so you only need one drop!

How do I use Madagascar Vanilla Absolute?

Madagascar Vanilla from doTERRA is a pure absolute, obtained by CO2 extraction, pre-diluted with fractionated coconut oil for easy topical application. Yet you can use it more than just topically – you’ll be hard-pressed to find a diffuser blend that doesn’t smell even more delicious with a drop of Madagascar Vanilla. In addition to diffuser blends, Madagascar Vanilla is ideal for mixing with personal care products or making part of pure-fume blends. Its distinctly sweet, familiar aroma is loved like few other fragrances! Adding Madagascar Vanilla to a beverage, such as your morning tea or smoothie, adds some extra delicious flavor.
