Guidelines for the use of essential oils

  1. Always read the label: Check the recommended dosage, application and any warnings on the label.
  2. Use with care: essential oils are highly concentrated. Use them in the recommended amount and avoid overuse. Be extra careful if you are sensitive to substances such as linalool, limonene, tea tree and cinnamaldehyde, as they can sometimes cause irritation.
  3. Dilute for skin use: Mix essential oils with a carrier oil, such as fractionated coconut oil, before applying to skin to avoid irritation.
  4. Avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose and genitals: Essential oils should not come in contact with these sensitive areas.
  5. Keep safe: Keep essential oils out of reach of children and pets. Keep them away from open flames.
  6. Store cool and dark: Essential oils retain their quality best when stored in a cool and dark place.
