Patchouli is a woody herb from the mint family with stems that are two or three feet tall and bear small, pinkish-white flowers. Patchouli has an easily recognizable, rich, musky-sweet scent. For centuries, Patchouli has been used in Asian countries for its supposed abilities to fight infections, cool fevers and as an antidote to insect and snake bites. This particular essential oil is great for making a homemade perfume.
