The essential oil of Clove is rich in the mono-terpene phenol and has stimulating and warming properties along with a variety of uses ranging from cleansing to oral care. Essential oil from Clove has been shown to support healthy inflammatory processes in human cells.* A recent research paper by doTERRA scientists, published in the Pharmaceutical Biology , adds to our understanding of the activity of clove essential oil in human skin cells.
doTERRA scientists studied the impact of the essential oil of Clove in the Biologically Multiplexed Activity Profiling (BioMAP®) system of human skin fibroblasts, a well-validated human skin model. The study found that the essential oil of Clove is able to influence critical proteins relevant to healthy inflammatory responses and tissue remodeling processes. The study also found that Clove essential oil actively influences human genes and signaling pathways. These findings suggest that we are just beginning to scratch the surface when it comes to the health benefits of Clove essential oil when used topically.
Although further research is needed to fully understand the efficacy and mechanisms of action of Clove , doTERRA scientists have taken the research on essential oils and their health benefits to a new level.
