Green mint (Spearmint) grows and flourishes in temperate climates. Green mint is known for its flavor and aroma, a little sweet and a fresh minty taste, but not too sharp. This green mint is used to make doTERRA's Spearmint oil.

Spearmint is widely used in products such as toothpaste, mouthwashes, candies and chewing gum because of its delicious taste. The plant has been used for centuries for its benefits on digestion. Its sweet and fresh aroma acts as a cleansing and mood enhancer, making it an ideal oil to use in combination with citrus oils in the diffuser to evoke a sense of focus and positive mood.

Spearmint is very different from Peppermint (Pepermunt), making it a milder option to use on children and those with sensitive skin. When cooking, Spearmint is often used in salads, drinks and desserts, but it can also be used in homemade marinade for meats.

Applications Spearmint Oil*

• Put Spearmint oil in a diffuser to lift the mood.
• Apply the oil to the toothbrush for fresh breath.
• Add one or two drops of Spearmint to desserts, drinks or salads for a fresh taste and to aid digestion.
• For an irritated stomach or heartburn, add 1-2 drops to a large glass of water.
