Sandalwood gets its name from fragrant woods that, unlike other aromatic woods, can retain their scent for decades. Both the wood and the oil have been valued for centuries and have a documented history of many uses. Sandalwood was traditionally used as an incense in religious ceremonies and to promote meditation. In ancient Egypt they used Sandelwood for embalming.
Sandalwood is very beneficial to the skin. It can help reduce skin imperfections and promote healthy, smooth skin. The oil has a sweet, woody aroma that can improve mood and is often used in meditation for the earthy effects of the aroma.
