For centuries Lavender has been a remedy for various ailments. Herbal women often prescribed a course of lavender to repair the skin or relieve concerns. Women also used lavender as an accessory in their hair or around their neck. During World War I and World War II, soldiers carried lavender with them to disinfect wounds, allay fears, and help those in pain. dōTERRA has been able to turn this beautiful purple plant into a natural oil that can be used a lot on a daily basis.

Applying Lavender

Like any other essential oil, Lavender of doTERRA many application possibilities. However, there are four areas where Lavender has much effect on. When applied to the skin, it supports healthy skin. When the oil is applied aromatically, it reduces anxious and restless feelings, also creating a general peace of mind. It also relaxes the muscles when there is a lot of tension in the body.

The Lavender dōTERRA Oil is not only calming and soothing, but also works on a deeper layer. Lavender opens channels of communication, reducing the fear of speaking in front of large groups.

For example, if you are afraid of being rejected, put 1 drop of lavender on your heart. This way you can give your heart a rest and stand firmer in your shoes. Lavender is known as the Mother of Oils that lives up to its name. If you have met Lavender this will most likely be the oil you use the most. Lavender oil is a must have oil for children. When it is diluted, it has the best effect.

Lavender apply yourself

  1. Bedtime: Put a few drops on the pillow or under your feet for a good night's sleep. It also has a soothing effect in a diffuser on the bedside table.
  2. Skin: Dilute the oil with a base oil and apply it to the skin. By diluting the oil, it stays where it is needed longer.
  3. Air freshening: Add a few drops to a spray bottle of water to freshen the air, closets, mattresses and clothes.
  4. Calming: Put 2-3 drops under the tongue or in a diffuser to relieve nervous feelings.
  5. Relax the muscles: For a muscle relaxing blend you can use Marjoram, Basil, Rosemary of Siberian Fir to combine. Mix these oils with a base oil for the massage.
  6. Speaking Support: rub 2-3 drops on the skin of the throat for confident speaking. It also helps children who are learning to talk.
  7. Toes and toenails: smear Lavender on the toes 3-4 times a day. Optionally add Melaleuca to the Lavender oil.
  8. Head: Mix Lavender, Frankincense en Peppermint with fractionated coconut oil and spread on the temples.
  9. Relieves Tension: 2 drops Lavender, 5 drops Clary Sage and 3 caterpillars Cypress with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Mix and apply to shoulders and neck.
  10. Relieves nervousness and agitation: 3 drops Lavender, 2 drops Wild Orange and 1 drop Bergamot with 1 teaspoon fractionated coconut oil. Apply to forearms for calm and new energy.
